Hi everyone! I have a new series of lapbooks coming out! I’ll be doing them on a variety of basic topics, so if you
have something specific in mind make sure to leave a comment below or send me an email and I’ll try to include it!
New to Lapbooking?
Lapbooking is a great hands-on way for students to research and learn all about a specific topic! It’s basically just
a file folder filled with fun little “mini-books” that contain interesting information about your overall lapbook
topic. They’re hands-on and really make any subject a little more fun! Lapbooking is also one of my favorite ways to
reinforce lessons that I’ve taught as we go through our curriculum. When my kids were younger I would let them choose
any topic they wanted and we would do a special lapbook unit on that as kind of an “elective” if you will.
Now that they’re older I’ll often assign lapbooks as a side activity to a curriculum I’m already using just to make
it more hands-on and fun. But you can also use them as your main curriculum depending on what you’re studying as well.
You can use lapbooks for just about any topic!

a Lapbook and Why Should I Use them in My Homeschool? here
U.S. State Lapbook:
My U.S. State Lapbook unit includes fun and engaging mini-books to help direct your student’s U.S.
Geography studies. I encourage you to have your students draw or print pictures from the internet to add to their
lapbooks as well. They can decorate the lapbook any way they like to make it more engaging and unique to them.
You can use my U.S. State Lapbooks as a supplement to my Road
Trip USA: United States Geography Curriculum or any other U.S. State study as well. You can even use it as a
stand alone project and have your student create a lapbook for each state as you study it.
Here is a sample of what the lapbook can look like when you’re finished, but of course you can customize it to add
anything you like!
The U.S. State Lapbook Includes the following mini-books & notebook pages:
- Lapbook cover with State, abbreviation, and flag
- 19 Pages Included, re-print state pages for each state you study
- Map activity
- Famous People
- Unique Landmarks
- Popular Foods
- U.S. Presidents from this state
- Main Climate

- State Landmarks
- About this state report page
- 50 Full Color State Cards
- 50 Full Color Flag Cards

The lapbook features a fun front cover and report page for extra information on your state.
I’ve included colored flag images that your students can print out and add to the front cover.
The lapbook also features several mini-books that will help guide your students to find unique state information for
the insides. Of course you’re welcome to add in your own facts as well. I’ve added in blank mini-books to help make
this unit more customizable for you!
I also added colorful state cards for each of the 50 U.S. States. They include the state symbols on them as well. But
I encourage you to have your students research this information on their own as well!
I hope you enjoy this lapbook unit! I have a ton of new themed lapbook units coming soon. If you have a topic you’d
like a lapbook on make sure to let me know in the comments below!
