My daughter and I LOVE this unit study! I happened to have the full unabridged version of 'The Secret Garden' in our family library, so I've been using that instead of the Classical Starts version and it works just perfectly. My little girl is 7 and in 2nd grade, so I read the chapter aloud and then she completes the mini book. This unit study is the perfect balance of hands on interaction and reading. The activities are pertinent to the chapters without being so involved that we lose the thread of the story and get bogged down in completing meaningless exercises. I will be purchasing many more literature studies from 'Confessions of a Homeschooler'. Thank you for the amazing gift of making literature come alive!
